How it works

Global season rules for Keeper Daily Fantasy.

The goal

Grow your bankroll across the NFL season. Everyone starts at $200. Highest bankroll after week 17 wins.

Unused salary each week stays in your bankroll and carries forward — you don’t have to spend it all.

Lineups

Each week you set a classic DFS roster. Ownership is shared — anyone can start the same NFL players.

  • 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 FLEX (FLEX is RB / WR / TE)
  • Total roster salaries cannot exceed your current bankroll
  • Build and swap freely until each player’s NFL game starts
  • To keep your streak alive, fill all 7 slots and spend at least 60% of your bankroll (capped at $200)

Locks

Locking is per player, not for the whole lineup at once. When a player’s game kicks off, that slot locks and late swaps for them are blocked. You can still change unlocked players on later slates.

At lock, that player’s salary is debited from your bankroll.

You can never add a player whose game has already kicked off — no picking someone after you’ve seen them score. And once the first game of the week starts, a slot can still be swapped to another player who hasn’t started, but it can’t be emptied. Late swap stays open; watching the early games and then bailing out does not.

Streak multiplier

Sitting on a lead would otherwise be the smartest move, so showing up every week pays. Skipping a week never costs you money — your bankroll simply doesn’t move — but it resets your streak and you give up the multiplier.

At the first kickoff each week, your lineup counts if it has all 7 slots filled and carries at least 60% of your bankroll in salary, capped at $200. On a $200 bankroll that’s $120; on a $400 bankroll it’s still $200. Anything less and the run starts over.

  • Every consecutive week adds 5%, maxing out at 30% after six weeks
  • It applies to your net P&L for the week and always works in your favour — a +$40 week at 30% pays an extra $12, and a −$40 week gives $12 back

That cushion is the point: a long streak quietly absorbs a couple of bad performances. Miss a week and you’re not out of it — you just rebuild from 5%, which costs roughly $30 over the rest of a season.

Weekly winners

Each week, the top 10% most profitable managers earn a trophy on the leaderboard. Ten or fewer players that week means one trophy, twenty means two, and so on — always at least one.

It goes on raw P&L from your roster, so streak multipliers don’t tip the scales. You have to actually field a lineup to be in the running, and if nobody turned a profit that week, nobody gets one. Hover a trophy on the leaderboard to see which weeks it was won.

Finishing the season

When the final week scores, you collect $5 for every week of the streak you finish on. Play all 17 and that’s $85.

It follows the streak you end on, not your longest one, so the last week of the season is the most valuable one to show up for rather than the easiest to skip. Miss week 3 but play 4 through 17 and you still collect $70.

Inactives and byes

If you start someone who never takes the field — inactive, a healthy scratch, or on bye — you get the full salary back with $0 P&L. It’s a wasted roster spot, not a loss.

A player who suits up and plays badly is a different story: that’s a real zero and it takes the full loss. Only genuinely not playing gets refunded.

Week payout

After the game is final, you receive a week payout:

week payout = salary + P&L

Net for the week on that player is just the P&L (salary debit and credit cancel). Hit quota → P&L $0 → you make back that week’s market value.

Quota

Each player’s weekly salary has a quota: expected half-PPR fantasy points — the break-even line.

Quotas are set per position, not from salary alone. Half-PPR scoring isn’t comparable across positions — a starting QB routinely puts up 18 while a good TE lives around 8 — so a $34 QB and a $34 TE carry very different quotas. Without that split, QBs would be free money and TEs an automatic loss.

Scoring uses half-PPR from official weekly stats (pass/rush/rec yards and TDs, 0.5 per reception, standard turnovers).

P&L: big games pay exponentially

Points above quota are paid in brackets. Each bracket is worth more than the last, so a genuinely extraordinary game is worth far more per point than a merely decent one.

  • first 6 points over quota — ×1.0
  • next 9 points over — ×1.8
  • everything past +15 — ×3.0

That bracket total is then multiplied by the player’s tier. Below quota it’s a straight line — (quota − actual) × tier multiplier — and the loss is capped at the salary, so a week payout never goes below $0. You can never lose more on a player than you paid for him.

Tiers

Shown as ×over / ×under. Cheap players keep the bigger over-multiplier, so at the same points scored a cheap player always out-earns an expensive one — a $8 flier who drops 35 beats a $50 star who drops 35.

  • $5–15 — ×1.4 / ×2.89 (dart throws: huge upside, but they bust far more often)
  • $16–30 — ×1.15 / ×1.21
  • $31–50 — ×1.0 / ×1.35 (stars: steadier, and a monster week still pays big)

The under-multipliers were solved against every game of the 2025 season so that each price range breaks even across the field. No tier is a free win, and stacking cheap fliers is not a strategy that beats simply picking well.

Example

$50 WR, quota 14.6 (star tier ×1.0 / ×1.35):

  • 14.6 pts → P&L $0 → payout $50
  • 25 pts → P&L +$13.85 → payout $63.85
  • 35 pts → P&L +$38.28 → payout $88.28
  • 0 pts → P&L −$19.76 → payout $30.24

Note how the reward accelerates: the jump from 25 to 35 points is worth almost twice the jump from break-even to 25.

Same 35-point game from an $8 WR (quota 4.2) pays +$97.36 instead. The cheap player wins that head-to-head, but he also busts far more often — and the star’s big week is still worth many times his average one.

Lineup board columns

  • Opp — opponent and home/away for the week
  • $ — weekly salary
  • Quota — break-even half-PPR
  • Tier — over/under multipliers
  • Ceiling / floor — P&L on a strong week (~9 pts over quota, green) or a bad one (~6 under, red). Those are real p90 and p10 outcomes from last season. Tap a player for the full payout curve.
