Playoffs

Postseason seeding, championship brackets, and consolation formats leagues can customize.

After the regular season, the playoffs determine the champion and help set final rankings. When the postseason ends, the cycle returns to free agency, then the next draft.

Bracket size, byes, and consolation formats should match your league size and preferences.

Seeding

The standard approach seeds by regular-season wins. If wins are tied, higher points scored usually earns the better seed. Leagues may add further tiebreakers as needed.

Championship bracket

Playoff teams compete in weekly head-to-head matchups; the higher score advances. Many leagues give top seeds a first-round bye and pair remaining seeds in a traditional bracket. The finalists meet for the championship.

Exact bracket shape (for example 4-, 6-, or 8-team playoffs) is a league setting.

Consolation / reverse bracket

Non-playoff teams often play a separate consolation bracket. Some leagues use a reverse bracket (lower score advances) to determine the bottom of the standings. This is optional but common in Keeper GM-style leagues.

Final rankings

Final places are typically set by championship and consolation results. Publish your league's ranking rules before the postseason so every owner knows how draft order and free agency positioning will be decided next cycle.
